A lesser known cycle endurance challenge is been attempted this weekend.
Ex-Red Lion staff member James Wild is teaming up with Doctor Robert Weeks to raise much needed funds to purchase a defibrilator for the Mill Road Surgery.
The hardy pair hope that local people will get behind them (no bike required) to raise around £2500 in order to realise their goal.
The smallest donation by way of sponsorship is a step in the right direction and pledge forms are available from:

Tom Wood Beer is proud to be associated with Duckworth Landrover (Market Rasen) in their ambitious challenge on another Continent!
Further to a similar event in 2007 where the team modified Landrover vehicles for the attempt, 2010 sees the Duckworth team taking part in a purpose-built rally vehicle. With over 200 entrants Driver Ben Duckwoth (Director) and Navigator Howard Belt (Sales Executive) harbour an ambition to finish in the top 10!
Travelling with other members of the Duckworth team in the official support vehicle, Duckworth's hope to raise £10,000 for the 'Help for Heroes' charity.
Manager of The Red Lion, Market Rasen - Pete Smith - visited Ben at the dealership prior to their 11th March departure, where he was shown around the vehicle and had the following comments:
"Looking at the vehicles it's clear Ben and his team are making a serious attempt at this challenge. The competing rally vehicle is simply a beast! I'm no mechanic so lubricating the most important part - the team - with bottled 'Jolly Ploughman' is the sum total of my input!"
